RIGMAROLE AMPLIFIER

2017

This amplifier is conceived as a linear sound-bar system, integrating amplification and speakers into a single, cohesive object. An optional subwoofer can be added to extend low-frequency performance if required.

At its core, a valve amplifier or a solid-state unit drives a pair of integrated transmission-line speakers. Transmission-line designs use a carefully tuned internal pathway to control and absorb rear-wave energy from the speaker driver, reducing distortion while extending bass response beyond what is typically possible from a compact enclosure. The result is a sound that is deep, controlled, and articulate, without reliance on excessive electronic correction.

All components are unified by a perforated anodized aluminium shroud, which serves simultaneously as acoustic grille, thermal ventilation, and visual envelope. The anodized finish enhances durability while giving the object a refined, industrial quality.

In an era dominated by digital precision, the "imperfect sound" of valves remains valued by many listeners. Subtle harmonic distortion, compression, and variation introduce warmth and character that many find more human and engaging than technically “perfect” reproduction.

The system can be shelf-mounted, wall-mounted, supported on a custom stand, or stood vertically as a freestanding totem.
