GOLD COAST SPORTING HALL OF FAME

2024 | GOLD COAST SPORTS PRECINCT

‘The exterior is defined by a series of cantilevered disks clad in roll-formed steel with integrated gardens positioned along their edges’

The Gold Coast Sporting Hall of Fame is a planned precinct anchor located between People’s First Stadium, the Carrara Indoor Sports Stadium, and the Nerang River.

The design serves as a public focal point and gathering space within the sporting precinct. The ground floor provides gathering and dining facilities, while the second floor houses the Hall of Fame to document regional sporting achievements.

The third floor contains a bar and restaurant, with the rooftop providing an open outdoor bar area. These levels are organized around a central open-air atrium generated by a radial steel structural system. This structural framework is expressed throughout the interior, providing the geometric logic for the internal spaces.

The building’s exterior consists of a series of cantilevered disks clad in roll-formed steel. Integrated gardens are situated along the perimeter of each disk. At the base of the structure, the ground floor plane extends over the Nerang River to create a physical connection between the building and the waterfront.
